Privacy Policy

Dart Keeper is made by Vexcom LLC, Vacaville, California. Effective September 23, 2026. This policy covers the web app at dartkeeper.net/play and the Dart Keeper apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.

The short version

Dart Keeper keeps score. Your games live on your own phone or tablet. If you add an email address, we use it to back your players up, to restore them on a new device, and to run your league. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads. We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, builds no profile and cannot follow you to other sites. The app never asks for your location.

What we collect

• Players and games: the player names you type, the teams and groups you make, and every game's scores, turns and stats. All of this is stored on your device. Scores and turn-by-turn detail never leave it unless you back up or play in a league.
• Your email address, only if you enter one. It identifies your backup, confirms that a league name belongs to you, and receives the messages described below.
• Who played whom: when a game ends, the app sends a short record to our server: the winners' and losers' names, which game it was, the time zone and language of the device, an anonymous device identifier created by the app, the app version, and your email address if you have entered one. No scores are included. Our server adds your public internet address at that moment, the city, region, country and network provider that address maps to, and a scrambled fingerprint of the address so games played on the same wifi can be grouped together. This is how we learn where Dart Keeper is being used. You can turn it off in Player Library › Backup & Share, and it stays off. The install record below follows the same switch.
• Install: once, when the app is first installed, it tells our server that an install happened and, if you arrived through a QR code, which code.
• Page views: our website, and the web app when you open it in a browser, count page views using Cloudflare Web Analytics. Launches from a home-screen or installed copy are not counted. It records the page, the referring site, the country and the kind of browser. It sets no cookies, stores no identifier on your device and cannot recognise you on another site or on a later visit. It is how we learn that someone found Dart Keeper from a search or a link. This follows the same share switch as the records above: turn that off and the app stops counting too.

Where it goes

• Our relay server keeps your backup (tied to your email) so you can restore on a new device, and keeps each league's roster, teams, results and the email addresses of its members. It is operated by Vexcom LLC in the United States.
• People in your league see the roster, the results and the stats of league play, including your name and how you did. The league head can remove or merge names and receives the night's report.
• Email: backup notices, restore codes, sign-in links, league confirmation links, league reports and boot notices are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. We send only the messages the app needs; you can change what you get from the link at the bottom of any league email.
• The Android app may check that it is a genuine, unmodified copy using Google Play Integrity. That check is handled by Google and does not include your name, email or play data.
• Cloudflare receives the page-view counts described above on our behalf. It is given no name, no email and no play data.

Fonts, images and the dartboard are built into the app. Apart from our own server, the email service and the page-view counter above, the app talks to no one.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent or trade your information.
• We do not show advertising and do not use advertising identifiers.
• We do not ask for or collect your device's location. The city on a game record comes from the internet address, not from GPS, and is often only approximate.

How long we keep it

Your backup stays until you replace it or ask us to delete it. A league stays as long as its head keeps it. Game records used for the "who played whom" log are kept so league stats and history keep working. To have everything tied to your email removed from our server, follow the steps on Delete your data.

Children

Dart Keeper is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top.
